Symptoms Of Black Magic (Sihr)

Psychological or Mystical?

There is a difference between psychological and mystical problems. Mystical problems often stem from black magic or jinn possession. Most psychologists reject the existence of mystical problems because psychology does not believe in jinns or black magic. However, as Muslims, we must believe in the existence of jinn and sihr (magic) because Allah mentions jinns in the Quran, and our Prophet (صلى الله عليه و سلم) was affected by sihr, leading to the revelation of the last two Surahs of the Quran.

Some patients suffer from serious psychological issues, but this does not exclude the possibility of being affected by black magic. Sometimes the psychological problem is more severe than the issue of sihr or jinn possession. In such cases, the psychological condition can hinder the cure for black magic and jinns because the mental state strengthens the jinn and witchcraft. Therefore, it is necessary to treat both psychological and mystical problems simultaneously. Jinn possession can cause brain damage, and after the jinn are removed, patients are advised to seek medical treatment.

Severe and Irreversible Cases

The most challenging cases are those where the patient has suffered irreversible physical or mental changes. When a person becomes physically disabled or mentally retarded due to witchcraft experienced early in childhood or even in the womb, the effects may be irreversible. Even if the witchcraft is removed, the damage done to the patient may persist. We can still hope for slight improvements and relief, but we must explain the limits of our possibilities to the family and avoid giving false hope.

When a child has been dominated by a jinn from a young age, the problem is that they have never developed their own personality or control over their body. Removing the witchcraft might partially relieve the person, but we may not be able to remove the jinn entirely. This is because the jinn has been the master of the body for so long that removing it might leave the person without a controlling entity. This situation is especially challenging for those who have been totally possessed since a young age and have not developed normally.
